The sustainable solution for the future of paints & coatings.
Government legislation wants sustainable bio-preferred products and continues to search for a solution to replace petrochemical based and non-sustainable technology. Coating suppliers continue to struggle to develop waterborne coatings with comparable performance of earlier solvent borne coating technology.
Alkyd paints and coatings, in particular, have seen very little conversion to waterborne or lower volatile organic compound (VOC) options, primarily due to performance gaps related to dry time, gloss, adhesion, and corrosion resistance despite the fact that versions of waterborne alkyds have been available for over 50 years.
Soya Oil Coatings Canada Inc.
Developed innovative technology that facilitates the dispersion of highly hydrophobic, high viscosity alkyd resins into water at zero VOC levels. These alkyd dispersions close the performance gaps of current waterborne alkyd options and offer end-users the opportunity to apply high-performance waterborne alkyd paints and coatings with zero VOC emissions.
SoyaOil® Paints and Coatings are not just another zero VOC paint system; they take back the desired performance of Alkyd based paints and coatings in a sustainable way. Natural high-quality ingredients make up 99.99% of this bio-based waterborne alkyd product. All components of SoyaOil® Coatings are sourced naturally consisting of either water, plant or mineral based resources; you will not find a drop of fossil fuel derived ingredients.
Canadian Universities
In partnership with various Canadian Universities and research facilities, Soya Oil Coatings Canada Inc., has helped develop a strand of soya bean oil that is designed specifically for formulation of their Canadian resin, paints and coatings. The soya bean that is grown by Canadian farmers is then crushed to extract soya oil and delivered to the SoyaOil® manufacturing facility. SoyaOil® converts the soya oil into a resin emulsion to be used in all production of their products.
A truly ‘homegrown’ solution for a sustainable future of paints and coatings.
Moving forward Soya Oil Coatings Canada Inc., looks for investment and distribution assistance to facilitate growth in sales and production. SoyaOil® looks to become the first asthma and allergy free certified, complete paint system, working with the national asthma and allergy association based out of Canada. Testing is underway and upon successful completion SoyaOil® hopes to add yet another unique selling point to its already extensive list.
Soya Oil Coatings Canada Inc. develops innovative products for the industrial, decorative and architectural industry. Soya Oil Coatings Canada Inc. technologies are used globally in a wide range of markets and applications, supporting a healthier, more sustainable and enjoyable way of living. End markets include paints and coatings, wood waste recycling facilities and furniture restoration and recycling enthusiasts. Key drivers for Soya Oil Coatings Canada Inc.’s strategy are market-driven growth and innovation, an increased presence in emerging economies and operational excellence.
